3 Planning and realisation of the project

The individual phases and activities of the project are detailed in fig. 1. 
The graphical project summary is shown in fig. 3.

Outdoor experiments were conducted using a plot design with 72 lysimeter pots (30 kg dry soil each), which allowed monitoring of leachate water  and thus opened mass balance possibilities.

The original schedule was extended on dynamical dendrotolerance/dendrotoxicity investigations with quantifiable TNT input using various glass fibre wick application systems.

The central expenditures were near below  the allowance answer of 810,400 DM. Higher expenditures for staff (on the average 9 %) were compensated by savings within the other ranges.
